Double Grain Whisky (known as Xplore in Australia, but labeled as Double Grain in the United States due to trademark rights) marks a significant shift in the perception of Australian whisky, breaking barriers of affordability and approachability. Carefully crafted for both whisky enthusiasts and those new to the world of whisky exploration. A light and smooth blended whisky for those who appreciate the subtle flavors of a neat pour. Additionally, expertly blended to excel in the realm of whisky cocktails, allowing enthusiasts to elevate their mixology game to new heights. 

Nose: Notes of stone fruits (white peach, apricot, nectarine), golden apple Asian pears, floral (spring flowers), rich chocolate, a mild hint of vanilla & honey.

Palate: Creamy texture almost custard apple or strudel, panna cotta roundness, pear notes, chocolate, and 5 spice present on the back palate.

Finish: Light/medium bodied up front, nutty/chocolate, opens up in the mid to dried stone fruits, fine subtle tannins from French and American oak, preceding a long, rich, smooth, clean finish.

 

Brand Story

Manly beach locals, David and Vanessa, wanted to share with the world a bit of Australia. Driven by their passion for the care free beach life, Australian marine life and the lush Australian landscape, Manly was born in late 2017.

Manly Spirits represents the harmony between the stunning marine environment of the New South Wales coastline and the urban sophistication of Manly Beach. The discussion of starting a distillery sparked in 2015 while driving through the hills of Tasmania, a spunky little island off the coast of south Australia. The following year, David and Vanessa ‘subjected’ (someone had to do the hard research) themselves to exploring distilleries throughout the US, Europe and the UK. The husband and wife duo returned back to where the light bulb first turned on, Tasmania, seeking out hands on training from a distillery on the island.

Eighteen months later, they saw their dream come to life and opened the doors to Manly Spirits Distillery. The ethos behind each of the spirits crafted at Manly supports a well known phrase that best describes Manly Beach, “Seven miles from Sydney, a thousand miles from care.” At Manly Spirits, David and Vanessa have managed to capture ‘nature in a bottle.’
